Topic: How do you make Protein Coffee
I see that people order Protein Coffee from StarBucks and even make it at home...

Is Whey Protein added or are you using a special Protein Powder???

I love my coffee black... but know I need to work on getting in enough protein in my days and thought... hmmm I should try this.

Whats the SCOOP?

GNC is a vitamin store --- usually in malls

you can go to gnc.com and enter your zip code to find the one nearest you or you can order online

Yes.  You can puree almost anything that you can get thin enough.  Just add a little chicken broth to it.  Enjoy.

I had RNY and we're not supposed to drink fluids with our surgery.  I love soups though and make all my own.  I make them thick and hearty and do fine with them.  I just leave out the starchy stuff.  Chili is just fine because it is dense enough.  I make both white and red chilis.  There's a white chili thread here that is about the same as the one I make and it is great.  Add some cheese and yum!!

Topic: Nutrition information
Hi, I'm new to the forum so if this has been covered before please forgive me.  I'm wondering if there is a website that allows me to enter ingredients from a recipe to get the nutritional value for it?  Id appreciate your help here.  I cook almost everything from scratch and often there's no nutritional info with recipes.  Thanks.  Elena

Thanks all! I love her dearly, but I MUST take the wind out of SIL's sails at Thanksgiving!

Bev, I look forward to hearing from you about the meringue - that sounds like my best bet!

I'm almost 5 years post op with a band and I eat soup often.  I don't eat any of that canned crap but I make my own homemade soups and make sure they are really hearty. I often take very little broth with mine so it doesn't get all washed down. I find chili very filling but I make mine very thick so it keeps me full for a long time.  I know of some bandsters that just eat the solid stuff in the soup and then throw out the broth.  Some do that with cereal as well, they eat the cereal and throw out all leftover milk.

Chili is a great post WLS meal. it is full of protein from the meat and the beans. I find it filling, not as long as a dense protein but works pretty well for me. add some cheese on top and it is even more protein.

Soups like home made  beef stew work better for me than say, canned chicken soup etc. I try to use losts of beef in the soup and mostly low carb vegs like brocolli, cauliflower, green beans etc and less potato and corn The tomatoes I use are fine.

Soups and stews are definately doable for us you just have to tweak the recipe a little.
Good luck.
Holly

Great recipe Linda.  Made it tonight and it was a huge hit.  Loved it with the tzatziki.
