You may also want to check out the forums for the different States. Hopefully there's one for your state. I belong to the Michigan Forum and have met, actually met in person, some great people in the same situation as I'm in. Perhaps she could meet some people for support in her own area. This Forum is a good one for recipe help. Hope she does well, and no doubt she will. This will be the best thing she's ever done for herself. I know from experience.

Topic: RE: Cabbage Soup recipe
I love cabbage soup, but I don't make mine with any meat usually. I sometimes will add leftover chicken to the bowl, but mostly not. I guess for our new protein needs I should be adding the chicken and/or beef. My recipe is basically the same as yours minus the green pepper. I can't tolerate, or don't like cooked green pepper. I haven't used A1, but I do use dried red chili pepper. I may just have to try the A1. Thanks.

Topic: Pineapple Upside Down Cake
I'm craving pineapple upsidedown cake. Anyone have a WLF recipe? I know I could substitute Brown Splenda, and unsweetened pineapple, but what about the cake part? Please, someone come thru for me!

Mmm, I want some chocolate chip cookies now LOL :)
You can always take the original Tollhouse Cookie recipe and make it WLS friendly!
Use Splenda instead of sugar; Splenda Brown Sugar blend instead of brown sugar; whole wheat flour instead of regular flour and egg beaters instead of eggs. The only fat will be in the butter (not sure what you could substitute for butter. Too bad it didnt call for oil, then you could of done applesauce instead of oil)
I would also recommend to add in a scoop of either vanilla or unflavored protein powder to throw some protein into the cookies. The sugar free chocolate chips are a great idea too!
Here is the orignal recipe:

Topic: RE: Low Carb Cheesecake
That sounds yummy I have one too. I know it's got more carbs but it's amazing. Even non WLS patients LOVE it.
1 8oz cream cheese
1 cup sour cream
12 oz Cool whip
2 tsps vanilla flavor
Mix all ingredients( in mixer) and smooth into optional crust then top with fresh fruit or NSA pie filling ( I love the cherry) then pop in the fridge overnight.
I have more than a few people request these at dinners and they aren't diabetic or WLS patients...they are that yummy!!!
Enjoy!!!

Tell your mom welcome! She'll find loads of terrific recipes here. Teach her how to copy and paste and set up an OH recipe file for her to use in her email account. I still find many recipes to use at this site and keep them all in an email file.
