Sounds great, but definitely not WLS friendly. Maybe using Smuckers sugar free caramel sauce in place of the sweetened condensed milk?

Topic: Homemade Low Carb Bake Mix?
Hi all,

I'm not really a baker, but since you really can't find low carb sugar free desserts in the stores I've decided I want to start making my own so that I don't have the urge to try the full on sugary desserts.

My question for you all is this... Do you have a favorite homemade low carb bake mix you like best?

I prefer something I can make using locally store bought ingredients.  I'm on a really tight budget so ordering supplies online is definitely out of the question for me.

I've googled and found quite a few but no one actually has any info on what the outcome of using such bake mix recipes have.

So that's why I have once again turned to my fellow OH'ers!

Can't wait to hear from u all :)

  Banana toffee pie
1 can FF sweetened condensed milk
(put unopened can in a pot of water, cover the can with water about 4 in.) bring to boil, then simmer for 3 hours..making sure the water stays above the can. When the 3 hours is up. Remove pot from stove and cool about 1/2 hour. remove can and let rest 15 mins. (trust me it works.)
                    1 graham cracker crust
4/5 med. banana's sliced about 1/4 in. Place into a bowl. open milk and pour over banana's and stir. Put mixture into pie crust. Top with FF cool whip. Refrig. for 2 hours.. enjoy..
It is amazing how the milk turns to a gooey sticky mess. taste like carmel syurp... The pie slices do not come out very easy. Infact it is a messy slice but, so good..the filling will seep out after you remove the first piece. this is not a pretty pie after it is cut...lol

I buy it in the bulk section of my grocery store, but have also seen it in the pasta/rice/bean aisle.

It cooks just like the long grain rice.  2 parts water,  part quinoa and a little salt.

(I usually do 2 cups water, 1 cup quinoa, 1/4 teaspoon salt.  Bring water and salt to boil, stir in quinoa and reduce heat to low.  Cover and cook for 18-20 minutes.  The water should be all absorbed by then.  Fluff with a fork.)

Topic: RE: what was your favourite pureed meal?
In the beginning it was refried beans mixed with some cheese and warmed up and topped with some greek yogurt.   Later on i liked things like my chix stroganoff which is slow cooked  so its super tender in cream of chix soup so i could take a bit of chix and soup and puree it easily.

Try the recipe for Shelly's Baked Ricotta.  Some of my non WLS family members really loved and made this recipe also.  So good!  Her blog has some really good recipes.

good luck with your surgery, it is coming up.  Just be warned, what tastes good now, may not taste as good post op.  Your tastes will definately change.  I used to hate seafood and spinach and now I love them both.

Anything with hummus, roasted vegetables, ricotta cheese, etc.

As far as sweet goes, I liked a mix of ricotta and greek yogurt with a spash of sugar free chocolate syrup and a tablespoon of pb2.
