Michelle, I have a dehydrator they are so nice to use. I have a Ronco and I use round steak the thin sliced and then cut into strips. I only put lemon pepper on mine. McCormick's is the best to use, other brands can have way to much salt and lemon in them. Anyway just thought I would share that with you. Hugs! Cat

Walmart sells a jerky making 'kit' which consists of a 'gun' where you mix the leanest ground beed you can find with the packets of seasoning that comes with the kit. Mix it all together, load the gun and squeeze out perfectly thin jerky strips to dry. My husband LOVES it and eats it by the pound lol. I use a dehydrator so I am not sure how you would use the oven but it seems like it would be similar. Best of luck! Kia 5'9" 284/167/155

I make my own jerky all the time. I start with 2 pounds of beef sliced thin. I used 1 1/2 cup soy sauce, 1/2 cup worchester sauce, 2 tbs liquid smoke, 1 tbs garlic powder, and habanero sauce to taste. I usually marinade overnight. It makes awesome jerky.
