I'm going on 3 years post op and I have always (even pre op) had really bad reactions to anything sugar free with sugar alcohols so I still stay far away from that stuff. I have always been able to eat stuff with Splenda or Stevia however I still try to stay away from that stuff too. I've found that I just can't have even fake sweet stuff in my house because I will still eat it irresponsibly. Meredith

I have nibbled on SF desserts since surgery and I am 4 1/2 months post op. Not everything agrees w/ me, so literally just try a very small taste. SF chocolate made me ill, but some SF ice cream was good, like Bryer Carb Smart in the blue container. I can have about 2 tablespoons and it sits well. SF stuff tends to be high in sugar alcohols, so just be careful! Good Luck, Ilyssa

I actually had some SF vanilla pudding 1 week post-op, no problems. I'm now 1 year post-op, and have gone from size 22 to size 8/9, so I don't want to eat too many desserts and sabotage my hard work. If I eat more than 1/4 to 1/2 cup of ANY dessert, I will dump, so I tend to take things slow, and limit myself. SF hot drinks-cocoa, herbal tea, decaf coffee-satisfy my cravings without causing me too many problems. Good Luck! Donika
