Anyone have any ideas for making stage 2 more interesting.  I'm one week post-op and tummy is telling me it doesn't like milk , so protein shakes aren't working too well.  Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks guys.

As far as a protein supplement that isnt even creamy or anything -- try Isopure, sorta like kool-aid with the protein you need. UNJury is also a great protein supplement, and comes in a chicken soup flavor.

For interesting stuff, try blending up some cooked meats and soft veggies with your favorite broth, and mild spices. You can also go get the Campbell's chunky soups and blend those-- given that you pick ones within your parameters. Mashed potatoes in small amounts are good as well for stage 2.

Hope this helps!

Thanks so much for the info.  I plan to get some Isopure ASAP and I went back and looked at the info I got from the hosp when they released me and it did mention Chunky soup.  I put some in the blender and it tasted great.  Soooo much better than plain broth.  Now if I could just find a way to handle the calcium tablets that are the size of a truck tire before you chew them up...I'd be in excellent shape.  All in all, I'm feeling great.  Thanks again for the suggestions.

Sorry - also make sure your Isopure is really cold  :-)

Are you able to use a pill splitter on the calcium and take them 1/2 at a time?

I knew I couldn't handle the chalky texture, makes me feel sick to my tummy, so I got the crystals you can add to anything.  Maybe ask about that.  ;)

What Calcium Citrate CHEWABLE brand did you get? I bought the unchewable by accident, so I need to get the other. No way I can swallow two of those twice a day. :-)

For the UNjury chicken soup (it is really yummy) be sure that your water is around 140 otherwise it gets clumpy. I just used a regular cooking thermometer in my water till it got to that temp and it was perfect.

Thanks for the additional ideas.  Two more weeks and I can move to the next phase, so for now all the suggestions are really helpful.  I've heard that the Nectar protein is really good, I'm going to order some of that next.

Take care and be blessed.

I know this post is old enough that you're no longer in Stage 2. But I wanted to add that you can purchase the Unjury protein powder in an unflavored version and add it to things like mashed potatoes or pureed veggies to get the protein count up. Just one more idea for new folks like me who may see your post.
