Yellow Chicken - What The Heck?

I moved to MX many months ago and the chicken here is yellow.  It is probably better than US chicken as it has no growth hormone, no antibiotics, none of that.  And btw... they are HUGE here! OMG, you should see a chicken leg, it looks like a dwarf turkey leg.  The breasts are ... you have to see it to believe it.  Amazing what happens when you just let a chicken grow the natural way.  My dog is sick and on an all chicken diet.  I went to the butcher and asked for 1 chicken breast.  It was about the same as 4 chicken breasts in the US.

Anyway, I want to know... why is chicken yellow?  I can't get beyond the color, it looks like a  big glob of fat.

Any seniors here that remember chickens from before we loaded them up with chemicals?

TIA

Are they corn fed?  That would be my guess.  Organic chicken here seems yellow to me.  They are usually labeled "corn fed."

No idea what they are fed.

These don't seem yellow, these ARE yellow, like big globs of fat.

Chickens are omnivores and should be eating insects, grubs, grain, seeds, all that stuff.

I have noticed the yolks of our CSA O-F-R chickens are very yellow.  When at the farm, I've seen them eat apple peels, bread,  etc.

When I was in Istanbul, Turkey I noticed the difference in the color of the chickens and the color of the broth.  It is much more flavorful and the chickens have more healthy fat on them.

Some days your the dog and some days your the hydrant.

Ok, I've seen you post about the yellow chickens, and I know it bothers you ;)  .. and I won't get a chance to see it when I'm there next month.. but I need to know, is it the skin or the meat that's yellow when raw?

We get birds from a local guy, they run all over the farm ..till they don't anymore and the flesh is a little diff than store bought, tastes like "chicken" chicken.. but I can't call it yellow, the skin & fat though are.
