Egg Rolls?
Hey Lisa!
This is the 3rd time I've heard about egg rolls today ... now I'm craving an egg roll wicked bad! LOL
In the grocery store, in the refridgerated section, there are really yummy egg rolls! They are made by Chung's and come in a bunch of varities. This chicken egg roll has only4 grams fat, 7 grams protein and 5 grams sugar. Its also 150 calories for the whole roll. Serving size is 1 roll. It takes about 10 minutes to cook in the oven - nice and crispy!! Its weird b/c the vegetarian egg roll has more fat, who would of thought! Check out their website too:

I made some yummy ones the other day..I used the regular egg roll wrappers but I sprayed them with olive oil and baked them..of course they don't puff up exactly like they do when you fry them but they are similar and they taste really good..I made mine with sliced chicken breast, sauteed mushrooms and onion and a lil mozarella cheese...they were very good
I make spring rolls using rice paper wrappers. They are not the same as egg rolls but you can stuff them with the same kinds of things (I like cabbage, carrots, cilantro, bean sprouts) and still have a dipping sauce (I like soy/rice vinegar and a dash of seasame oil) and get the same effect.
They can be pretty filling so I try to put some protein in with the veggies. Shrimp would work but I like chicken or turkey.
