What am I going to do?  We have our annual Latke Extravagenza in 2 weeks and I really want to have some.  Any idea if it would be bad to have a bite?  I'll bring my own no sugar added aplesauce, but does anyone know of any "les bad for you" latke recipies?  thanks

Other than baked instead of fried or Sweet Potato, I don't think the potato pancake is "bad"

There is probably more to fear in the sour cream. Just enjoy an appropriate amount.

One bite of anything shouldn't be a deal breaker. the question is,can you stop at one bite or one latke? will it throw you into a carb binge?
Those are the issues I would ask myself about. if I thought I was up to the challenge,I would go for it. The worst that can happen is you might find out that it wasn't the best choice and then you move on.

yeah, I was thinking I could bring my own applesauce and limit my intake.  No sour cream for me, although I could try plain greek yougurt . . .

i baked mine last year (sorry tradition of having to be fried in oil, my dead ancestors understood) and greek yogurt is a fantastic idea!
you can also make your own applesauce! good luck, the jewish holidays are way tought after weight loss surgery!
