EZ italian sausage bean soup
I try to make a pot of bean soup a week so I can take it in my lunch. This really tastes good to me and it's souper easy. All the ingredients can be adjusted more or less to taste:
brown 1 lb. sweet italian sausage ( buy really lean) with a small diced onion and some minced garlic
drain if necessary
Add:
1 can chicken broth
1 can diced tomatoes with basil, oregano
3 cans cannelini beans (white kidney beans), liquid included
1 small can tomato sauce
salt, pepper, additional oregano to taste
Simmer about 20 minutes and enjoy. It's even better the next day.

I'm glad your family liked it. I forgot to tell you that if you sprinkle a little parm. cheese on it, it is to die for!
I figured it out to be 198 calories per cup with 13 g. protein. I'm going to try turkey sausage next time to get the cals. down.

Here is an awesome recipe that sounds similar. I make it as is, except use turkey sausage and double the amount of sausage and use spinach instead of kale. Per cup calories is 221, fat 8.9, 9.5 carbs and 20 protein.
