Cookbooks/Cooking after Surgery
Are there any great cookbooks out there following surgery?
I have always loved to cook, 1/2 my TIVO shows are Food Network...that could be an issue :)
But one thing I see and notice is the plating, the smaller portions, the incredible flavors and attention to detail that those cooks have. Since that is something I often play with now I would love the opportunity to see great chefs that have changed their lives with surgery, but also have shared a new love of how to deal with food in a positive way and still make it an art.
Food isn't going to ever go away, but wondering if I will lose the passion to cook and experiment like a do now.Wondering if my $180 pasta maker attachment I got a couple of Christmas's ago for my Kitchenaide may soon go to waste.

I adore cooking and have probably transfered a bit of my addiction to cooking. I take great pleasure in trying new recipes and having friends over as guinea pigs!!! They don't seem to mind either.
It's funny you mentioned this, but I now really savor what I eat. I love new textures and flavor combinations....I sort of approach food like analyzing wine...what do I taste, etc....
You will still be able to use that attachment...just sparingly!!!!!
Wishing you health and success

i have two WLS cook books in my collection. my favorite of the two is Recipes for life after weight loss surgery by margaret m furtadeo and lynette schultz this book is great easy to follow includes nutrition info and if ur early out it give a general amount of weeks after surgery that u should be able to tolerate ingreadients. the second book is eating well after weight loss surgery by patt levine and michele bontempo-saray this book also includes nut info on each recipe. but i also follow many blogs that are wls blogs like www.theworldacordingtoeggface.com i have also taken many of my existing recipes swapped out ingredients and made them wls friendly. its not that hard to do.
