Beginning Pureed Diet today!
Hello all! This is my first post, I just joined and I am looking for people to relate with and give me tips! I am just starting my pureed diet and I wanted to know what everyone recommends. I am a little confused as to what I can and cannot consume at this stage. Some websites say I can do nonfat milk, others say I cant, can I puree some plain cereal for breakfast? mashed potatoes for dinner? I am at a loss.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

I know the feeling I'm in the same boat and feel entirely lost. Looking for recipies is almost like looking for a needle in a hay stack, they all say something entirely different. Looking forward to seeing what others on this site did and how they managed.
Thanks,
Selena

The pureed stage was kinda hard for me - until the light bulb went off in my head! Basically, if it's soft and moist, with no lumps, you can eat it. So, really, if you have a blender, you can eat anything.
I ate a lot of yogurt, ff pudding, jello, cream of wheat, grits, and the like until I figured that out. Then, I started making "real" food, and just pureeing it in the blender. For example:
I made a roast in the crock pot with some potatoes, onions, carrots, and mushrooms. My hubby ate it normally, and was SO happy I was cooking again. I got my portion, added a little canned beef broth, pureed it, and ate it up!
How about some chicken salad? Get some canned chicken and some ff mayo and blend the heck out of it (I would avoid raw veggies, even blended, until you are given the ok from your surgeon or nut). Same with tuna, or shrimp. I think ff mayo tastes horrible, so I use ff cream cheese instead - has about the same stats, but adds a smidgen more protein (and tastes better too, imo!).
Faux lasagna is tasty too. Just get some ff ricotta cheese, pour some prepared spaghetti sauce on top of the ricotta, sprinkle some shredded mozzarella cheese on top, and nuke until warm and bubbly.
Just make sure there are no lumps in what you eat - blend it up, and you'll be fine.
