kid friendly?
ok so my sons 2nd birthday party is coming up this saturday. i am 4 months post op and am having people over, some have had RNY, some are diabetic, some should watch their weight (although i wont tell them that to their faces) and lots of toddlers. being this economy is so tough i cant afford to grab all kinds of food to appease everyone, but since the adults will be the type more so to sit around and munch (the party is at 2pm, after lunch but still munchy time) i didnt know if anyone had any ideas on food that is EVERYONE friendly...
originally i was thinking of making some dips (i make a mean spinach artichoke dip. and i love the buffalo chicken dip i found on here) with veggies and chips and a big salad, and for the kids i was going to make mini english muffin pizzas on wheat muffins with just some sauce and cheese, but my husband is now saying we should just order a few pizzas and call it a day. but im not only worried about money, im worried that not everyone is going to be able to eat!
any suggestions??
thanks

The salad and veggie tray sound really good. You could also have peanut butter to go with the veggies. How about a bowl of pop corn or flavored mini rice cakes?
You'd be surprised how much pizza you'll have left over. (15 kids, 4 large pizzas, cut into 16 pieces, and had 2 1/2 pizzas left over!)

Ways I feed a group:
1) Huge pot of Chili (who doesn't eat chili?). I make one regular and a smaller one vegetarian
2) Sub sandwich bar. Demi baguettes, cured meats, cheese, lettuce, tomato and condiments.
3) Make your own pizza bar. You can even decide if you want ready bake pizza crust or make your own dough balls
