My pouch only seems to like it's protein on the warm side.  I have been having hot chocolate protein for the past three weeks but tis the season for apple cider.  Anyone have a recipe for my grumpy pouch who only like warm things?

Thanks
Deb

YES!

I use a vanilla or vanilla cinnamon powder with a packet of the Apline Apple Cider sf mix and add cold water or sf caramel syrup - just enough to make a paste...then add ho****er as you stir like crazy...then I put it over the top with a little cinnamon sprinkled over.

One way to make hot shakes HOT and not clump or curdle your pro is to use a hand held blender wand...they work great and I use hot-from-the-pot coffee or water for a HOT shake, and not just a luke-warm one!

 Caramel Apple Protein Cider

2 cups non-fat powdered milk

1 1/2 cups vanilla protein powder (equal to 6 scoops)
1/2 cup Splenda
6 pkts sugar free Apple Cider mix
1/2 box sugar free butterscotch dry pudding mix (equal to approx 3 tablespoons)
1 tablespoon cinnamon

1 tablespoon nutmeg

Combine all ingredients together and mix well and store in an airtight container. When you're ready to make a mug of cider, here's how:

Add 1/2 cup of mixture to mug. Add a splash of cold water and mix well until you have a smooth paste with no lumps. Slowly add ho****er and continue mixing to eliminate any lumps. I have large mugs so I used about 10-12oz of water per batch. If you have smaller mugs, then reduce the amount of dry mix.

If you want to mix your drink the "automated" way (like I do), here's how. Add 1/2c mixture to a blender jar and add the splash of cold water. Turn on the blender on low and let it mix and then slowly add ho****er from the tea kettle while the blender is still whirling. Pour into a mug and enjoy.

You almost might LOVE this. I do!!!

Protein Hot Chai Mix

6 scoops vanilla protein powder

1.5 cups non-fat powdered milk

3/4 cup instant unsweet tea mix

3/4 cup Splenda

1T. chai spice mix (or use half cinnamon and half ground ginger)

1t. ground cloves

1t. cardamon (original recipe calls for this, but I don't have any, so skipped it)

Mix all dry ingredients in bowl until well blended.  Add 1/2 cup of mixture to mug and add either splash of cold milk or water -- stir to create smooth paste (so you don't get lumpy protein powder).  Add 8oz ho****er and mix well.  You can top with Light Redi Whip and a sprinkle of chai spice or drink it naked.  (The drink is naked, not you.)

Recipe makes 7 half-cup servings. Calculation below is without the "splash of milk" when you're mixing the tea.  If you use RediWhip -- it adds about 20 calories.
