Birthday Cake Recipe?

Hi all! I have not been on here in soooo long but I am now over a year out of surgery and my 32nd birthday is coming up next sunday.  My sweetie wants to make me a cake but need an easy recipe that you use splenda in.  Anyone have any good recipes? Frosting too would be fantastic LOL

Birthday's are a special thing of limited duration AND I don't dump; so, I just have a slice of real cake.

Cake frosting is made of two things: Fat and Sugar.  You could substitute the Sugar but you'd still have the Fat...so it's like, why bother? and I'm back to real cake.

Angel Food cake with a berry puree would be about the best health wise.

Pillsbury has a Reduced Sugar version of their boxed cake mix and frosting.  I haven't tried it yet but I did buy a box.  The devil's food cake has 9g sugar and 5 sugar alcohols, the chocolate fudge frosting has the same sugars .  Shows serving size for the cake at 12 and the frosting at 14.

The Phillisbury cake mentioned above is very good. Also the splenda web site has a lot of recipes.

I love the chocolate cake recipe on the back of the Hershey's cocoa powder can - I just substitute the sugar for either Diabetisweet (available at Target in the Diabetic section) or splenda.

 Also - you can google "7 minute frosting" most of the time they are made with egg whites and no fat.

A few years ago, I did WW.  They had recipes for cake.  They are super easy, depending on what you want.

The only ingredients are cake mix and diet soda.  You can add 2 egg whites if you wish.  You could mix up the flavors.  For example, chocolate cake with diet cherry cola.  Bake according to the directions on the box.  As far as "frosting", you could use plain whipped topping or use whipped topping and add a flavor gelatin or whipped topping with pudding.  If you did chocolate cake with diet cherry cola then use whipped topping and cherry gelatin.  You could decorate with cherries.
