Ok, I tried salmon over the weekend, and I liked it. I wasnt crazy about the sauce (it was prepared in a tomato based sauce) but I liked the meat.

Now what do I do? How do I buy it? Is there always skin on the bottom that you have to take off? What are your favorite salmon recipes? I need a low cal recipe.

THANK YOU

I usually buy it in Costco at the freezer section.  The pieces are individually sealed so they don't get freezer burn and they are already deboned and skin-less.

A quick and easy recipe that I like:
Spray your oven broiler pan with cooking spray.  Place defrosted salmon on pan and then poke it 15-20 times with a knife.  Spray it with cooking spray and then drizzle a low sodium soy sauce all over it.  Stick it under the broiler for 7-8 minutes and it is done.  It is nice with a bit of sauce:  steak sauce, horseradish-basil-sourcream sauce, regular or fruit salsa.  Whatever you like.  Enjoy!

The best seasoning for any meat esp salmon is Garlic and wine seasoning from the melting pot. you can buy it at the restraunt or the website.

I love lemon pepper on mine, dill is great on it too!  Most seafood counters at grocery stores will cut the skin off when you buy it.

on another note, you can eat salmon cold and it takes on a different texture.  I actually like it cold more than warm its more dense kind of like a chicken, but flaky.  mmmmm

i get the salmon filet. I put down some foil.. rub some olive oil on the foil place the filet skin side down..

I take some old bay and mix it with olive oil to make a paste.. Pour it on the fish.. Close the foil to make a tent looking thing. Place on a grill for 20 min or until it slides off the skin..

Or you can soak a cedar plank, put fish on the cedar and smoke it on the grill
