Turkey Loaf

Yummy

Ingredients:

1lb ground turkey, dark & light mixed

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp dried thyme leaves

1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper

1 egg

1/2 cup chopped celery

1/4 cup chopped onions

Garnish with Thinly sliced tomatoes, and Green Pepper Rings.

Preparation:

1. Blend ground turkey with salt, thyme, pepper, egg, celery and onions until well blended.

2. In a buttered baking pan, shape meat into an elongated mound, about 8 inches long and 3 inches deep. Smooth top & sides.

3. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour until golden and cooked through.

4 Before serving, arrange slices of tomato and green pepper over the top.

You may double this recipe but bake it in 2 loaves.

I leave the salt out of mine and let my family season it to there liking.
I also sometimes add about a half a can of Ro Tel Tomatoes into my mix.
I also use cooking spray instead of butter.

Oh by the way I lived on this stuff when I was on the mushy stuff after surgery.

I read this recipe to my son who is 16, and he asked if I could make it as my first meal after surgery...lol For my son to ask me to make something new is a rare thing, so thank you again!..lol My son is a picky eater at times....I'm looking forward to making this...

Oh that is to funny. I have a 19 year old and she is very picky too; but she loves this. Even my 4 year old will eat it. My husband loves it the day I make it and he always hopes there is left overs because the next day he likes to make a sandwich with it. lol
