Sapote
Doing my usual means each time I go to the mega produce store I buy something I have never tried before. Today I found something I've never seen or heard of before. Apparently it comes from Mexico. It's a Sapote. (Sa-po-ta?)
I can find facts and figures about it such as protein content, etc., but I can't really find what I am supposed to do with it.
Does anyone know what this stuff is?
TIA

Its fruit may be eaten raw or green and the flesh is used to make jams, icecreams and sauces; when cooked, it can be an acceptable substitute for apple puree and may also be used in confectionery.
