eggfaces' donuts

I tried to make the donuts tonight and they came out very dry.     Has anyone else had that problem?   I live in Colorado so some of it might be the altitude.    I also wondered if anyone had converted the recipe to white donut rather than the chocolate one.........I never liked chocolate cake so that may be part of the problem as well.     

mine we sooo dry my kids wouldn't even eat them! the cakes are dry too!
