Hi everyone...was wondering if any of you great cooks have a recipe for the light colored BBQ sauce that is used on like pullled pork sandwiches? Not the dark kind, I can make that but the light colored one that is used in BBQ joints...any recipes I would appreciate...thanks!!!

I assume you're wanting a vinegar based BBQ sauce instead of one with molasses...i would go to a website called http://www.bluesmoke-bbq.com/  they have osme of the finest recipes you could want for all types of bbq and the vinegar based one would be lower carb than the Kansas City Styled brown sugar BBQ sauces or even the tomato based sauces of Memphis....  so that would also leave room for the mustard based sauce for pork.....

This isn't my original recipe, but I would definitely use it proudly....  Warning it is majorly tasty and I have used it several times but it does have carbs, so don't go nuts with it!...

Mustard Barbecue Sauce
  INGREDIENTS:
  • 4 cups yellow mustard (two 20-ounce bottles of French's mustard should do the trick)
  • 8 ounces of beer (less for thicker sauce, more for thinner sauce)
  • ½ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 8 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup tomato puree
  • 2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne
  • 1 tablespoon fresh cracked black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 ounce of Jack Daniel's
PREPARATION: Heat all ingredients in a sauce pan over medium heat and mix well. Coo****il sauce just begins to thicken. Serve cool or warm. The sauce will last in the refrigerator for a long time. Quantity: 6 cups.

Hope this helps you....and I LOVE BBQ...so i just don't cook it...  i eat it like mad!
