This is how I make it.   I use 8 cups of boiling water and 8 tea bags and let it steep for hours.  Remove the tea bags and refrigerate the strong teauntil cold.  Pour tea over ice cubes and add sweetener.   You can add a bit of cold water if you find the tea too strong.  I also use lemon in mine but that's optional.

I grew up on sweet tea it was like liquid love.
But with being a diabetic i could not have it and then McDonalds came out with sweet tea and my boys love it and i knew i had to fix my own.
So i fix my tea with 8 decaff tea bags and our tea maker i found splenda that comes in a package like kool aid and its awesome i add 1 package to the tea and it taste just like sweet tea......

To make a gallon of tea, we use  6 tea bags in our coffee maker, which is the only thing we cook in the coffee maker. When that is finished cooking we pour it in the tea pitcher and add 16 packs of equal, mix and then add cold water to finish filling the pitcher up. Fill glass with ice, pour tea and enjoy.

If you like it stronger or sweeter add more tea bags or equal packets. We don't use caffeen free anymore. If this is the only bit of caffeen I get other than an occasional cup of coffee, I'm not to worried about it.

I realize some people CAN'T have caffeen and they should use caffeen free tea bags if that is the case.
