I like the concept of 200 calorie meals, in fact my surgeon says eat 6 200 calorie meals a day. Problem is, all their ideas are cold foods, like an apple and peanut butter, lunch meat wrapped around a cheese stick etc. Hungry girl has a book, but i don't like her recipes. ANy recipes greatly appreciated

How about lentils?  1/4 c. has 150 calories, 10 grams of protein, and it is warm.

String cheese with lunch meat wrapped around it and then put in a pan and heated up until the cheese is melty. I have this quite often!

I do this a lot, too. I like turkey with pepper jack cheese, ham and swiss, the list goes on and on.

Go to Wal-Mart or Target and get the cookbook "Hungry Girl - 200 under 200".  All of her recipes are uner 200 calories in this book and there are plenty hot ones as well as desserts and more.  I love it!  I also have her original cookbook and love it as well.

Actually, that book is what brought me to this question. I have HG's 200 under 200 recipe book and i do not like it. I found it mostly to be cold foods/sweet treats. I am a warm savory food girl and I started cooking my own warm savory meals for the same calorie amount. I make a wonderful tuna casserole for under 200 calories. I wanted to tap otherchefs in trainings minds for their great ideas. Thank you for the suggestion, but my dietary needs are just way too different than hungry girls

Sure here is the 200 or less calorie tuna casserole recipe

Ingrediants
1 package Shirtaki noodles
1 can tuna in water
1/2 cup mixed vegetables
1/4 cup fat free chees
1 serving condensed 98% FF campbells cream of mushroom soup
Juice of 1/2 lime

Prepare
1. Rinse Shirtaki noodles well and pat dry. ( this is the most improtant step)
2. Mix in condensed soup, drained tuna, and mixed vegies
3. Squeeze lime and add juice
4. Mix and add pepper to tast
5. Top w/ FF cheese and bake until warm and cheese melted/crispy, however you like it.

This makes 2 sevings at around 195 calories each. The serving is more than a cup, so newbies could make at least 3 meals out of this with way less calories.
