I have looked ont he flour isle in my local Walmart (south MS) and CAN NOT find this.  This is the isle where it probably would be right?

Second questions- lol  do you use this just like flour (all purpose flour)?

Thanks

I get it at Trader Joes--it is ground up almonds and cannot be substitued for standard flour in most things.  It is good for crusts of cheesecake, coating chicken, that sort of thing.  Soy flour can be used for regular flour better, it just tastes a bit different.  Good luck.

I find it in the baking isle right by the nuts. You can also just buy raw almonds and crush them in a food processor. You want to use it as an addition to flour; by itself it is very crumbly. The world according to eggface has recipes that used the almond flour. http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/  Bob’s Red Mill also makes pre-packaged almond flour http://www.bobsredmill.com/product.php?productid=3451 I use Bob’s red mill low carb baking mix with the almond flour when I make pie crusts or add it to protein bar recipes. http://www.bobsredmill.com/product.php?productid=3760&cat=0& page=1

I hope this helps

I personally love using nut meals/flours in recipes but I find the store bought brands (all brands LOL) SUPER expensive!  I highly recommend using them as flour alternatives or blending with regular flour BUT I suggest buying your nuts in bulk where its cheapest and grinding them in your Cuisinart yourself.
