Need Help!! (Recipes for my hubby)
My husband just had surgery on Wednesday, (he is doing great so far) I went to Wal-mart and bought all the general shopping list stuff from the nutrition class,
just wondering...
1) Can anyone forward me some "fun"recipes... that you guys have come up with...
I did pick up some flavored extracts...
2) Brand of Yogurts? (to stay under the 5 grams) (Is 7 grams really too much?)
3) How much Non-Fat Dry Milk to add to pudding (for the 4oz/8oz meal?)
The 1st and 2nd month I know is kind of boring... Just looking to the experts for some fun recipes for now and the months to come...
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Congratulations to all of you!
Sincerely,
Reza Shulman
Hi Reza,
I am not sure what kind of surgery your husband had... or what his diet is to include...
but I have a lapband...
my first two weeks were EAS Shakes EAS protien powder and 1% milk... also Carnation Instant Breakfast and 1% milk.... then it was potatos, scrambled eggs, soft eggs, anything that was soft...
now i eat what I want... except what doesn't affect me... hard meats do... but i also do a specific diet... low carb high protein... it helps with my diabetes and also helps me in loseing weight... as far as pudding is concerned... i did sugarfree fat free... with 1% milk... added 1/4 cup extra and added in either chocolate or vanilla protein powder...
on netrition.com there are other protein powders called Nectar that have different flavors.. and can be mixed with water..
i know i sound boring... and this web site will help you more... look for hear_me_roar recipes if you are doing low carb... also there is http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com and she has a lot of recipes...
sorry i couldn't be of more help

Hello Dave and Reza!
Welcome to the Losers Bench!!!
Look for yogurts with probiotics---YoPlus is pretty good.
Also several people recommend Fage (greek yogurt). It can be eaten plain, or sweetened with splenda and/or flavored syrups. It can also be used as substitute for sour cream&mayo. It is very high on the protein scale.
Also try some protein powders. 100% Whey protein. Can be mixed with puddings, yogurts, Soymilk.
also go to TheWorldAccordingToEggface.com
Michelle has oodles of recipes for protein shakes, protein ice cream, baking with protein powder, and many others.
Good luck
