Since we are getting close to St.Patrick's Day, I thought I would share my great-grandmother's Irish Tea Bread recipe. ENJOY!!!!!!

IRISH TEA BREAD

6 cups Sifted Flour(sometimes I don't sift it, and it comes out fine)
4 TBSP  Baking Powder
1 TSP Salt
1 cup Sugar(Splenda???)
1/2 Stick Butter
2 Beaten Eggs
1 Cup Raisins(I like to add extra, about 1-3/4 cup)
2 TBSP Caraway Seeds
1-1/2 to 2 cups Milk

Place iron frying pan into oven and preheat to 375°.
2 loaf pans can be used, no need to preheat those.

Mix flour, baking powder and salt together.(original recipe says to sift 3 times,but I don't) Add butter and rub with your fingers until it is pea sized. Add and mix with hands: sugar, raisins and caraway seeds.
Add and mix beaten eggs with mil****il it is soft dough.
Take out iron frying pan and grease with butter. Add dough and bake at 375° for 10 minutes, then lower
temp to 350° and bake for 45 minutes.
