Textured Vegetable Protein - I NEED HELP!

I bought some unflavored TVP the other day. I have tried reconstituting with beef broth but it really didn't make it taste like meat.
How can I make it taste like beef? Right now it would be really icky in anything just using the broth. And Im using it in recipes - not by iteself so that isn't the problem.

Beauty....

Demi glace would be one way of bringing out a rich flavor...  but I have to put a warning with that since I don't know why you're using veggie protein.  Are you a vegetarian?  If so, then you can't use a good demi glace becasue it's made with real beef stock and bones....


If not, i have good ideas that can help.  i use it myself in morning start veggie sausage patties....and love them.  I also just put a bordelaise sauce recipe out there that can really bring out some great flavors in something that needs a punch!

Nope not a vegetarian - just figured it would be a lowfat way to get the protein in as substitute in meat dishes. I dont use it much when hubby is home as Im paranoid of giving him too much estrogen (soy has estrogen in it). I dont want him to grow Moobs because of me!
