No you don't.....so why say it?

Have you excercised and gone to therapy to stop emotional eating?

Wow....Mr supportive... it's cool of you to continue your rant, but let's think of it this way...  Soon, you'll be blocked and you'll not have to worry about the rest of us...  So please, go be bitter...go and feel free to be jaded against whatver you choose to go be bitter about...  no worries...

I could fuss and fight all day, but honestly, it serves no purpose but to wag our jaws about opinions...  I'm perfectly fine with your opinion...you said it...now move along...  I don't find you to be effective in making any points except that you feel better when you attack someone else....  so hey, i've said my peace....  Karma takes care of the rest of the life....  If I need to roar, you'll know it....  you've revealed yourself to others in the way you chose...  You reap what you sow.....

Just for the record though...one thing you said does tend to twist the knobs a bit....  i don't have "followers"...

I just have people that I love no matter what size or package they come in....because I once asked someone to help me and now it's my turn to give back....  ask around if I've ever turned anyone down that needed help...  i've been there...  i've walked the walk....i didn't have to just talk it...  have disagreements?  I'm willing to swap phone numbers...  you?  feel free to PM me...

Cool beans....cool beans...

Hey Mr. Roar.

regarding your post to the forum entitled "WEIGHT LOSS RELATED / RECIPE FORUM"  Link as follows:

http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/recipe/3861484/LOW-Carb-Am azing-bacon-explosion/

Kind of a funny reply but I'm glad you did.

You said "it's cool of you to continue your rant.."   But I only ranted once and that was with regard to your posting of the Lard Log recipe.  Others that obviously want to stay in the wallows are defending you....so I responded.  One Rant.

Then you say  ".......  no worries... I could fuss and fight all day, but honestly, it serves no purpose but to wag our jaws about opinions...I'm perfectly fine with your opinion..."

But then you continue????  So I guess my post bothered you a bit.  I'm sorry about that.

Then...."Just for the record though...one thing you said does tend to twist the knobs a bit....  i don't have "followers"..."

What?  Look at the posts to your Lard Log Recipe!  All New folks...still in the throws of self dilusion  [that is how we got this way no?  or do you think this was done to you?] and asking if even fatter 'Italian sausage' can be subsituted....or 'I can't wait to make this'.....Sorry but to me.... a little support to eat some protien and for the posters to search thier fears as to why they are eating out of boredom, sadness, fear, anger, etc. would be far more helpful than posting a Lard Log recipe on a Fat Folks web site.  Kind like posting pics of little children at a rehab for pedophiles...no?...or bringing a keg to an AA picnic...No?  Am I wrong?

"...now it's my turn to give back....  ask around if I've ever turned anyone down that needed help...  i've been there...  i've walked the walk....i didn't have to just talk it...  "

But just what are you giving back?  The need to be mentally fat rather than face life's challange's and get better?

Sorry Roar..but I just don't get it so I am glad you replied.  Now you can answer my question?  And I am dead serious here....What are you thinking?

Please answer.  It will not only be instructive to me but many others as well.

And I don't think this conversation is off limits by any means....if you can justify the recipe that you posted then I will retract and bow down to you......but it's gotta be good.

Now several have suggested what your thoughts may have been.  I'll list a few.

That that recipe was only for folks that had the DS procedure.  Was it?  if so, should you have at least stated so?  And...educate me..Do the surgeons that perform this procedure want the patients to go out and make recipes like that....and eat it?  Isn't the point to lose fat?  Isn't it a dangerous game to shove fat in while one is trying to burn the body fat?  Counter productive.... no?  Do you think that you will stay thin by keeping you bady in a state of constant ketosis for ever? ... If so, why not post on a south beach diet board??   Do you think that constant ketosis is a stable and healthy state?  or do you think we should be learning to regulate our eating patterns to more normal and healthy levels while we have the "tool" of surgery to give us a little push and allow so time for head rearrangement?  Are you a weight loss professional?

Moderation was also suggested.   I would agree that moderation is a good thing.  A piece of bacon with eggs once a month or a week or so might be considered moderate.  Not a roll of fat rolled up in a roll of fat and smothered with carb sauce....in my humble opinion.  That is purely the sign of someone who is still mentally fat...again...in my most humble opinion.

A lot of folks listen to you and you have been helpful for a long time..... OK...cool...I'm up for that.  But are these folks getting better [not just losing weight through the SBD and throwing their body into ketosis temporarily but actually getting better]..are you?  Have you discovered why you got fat to begin with yet?  or are you still hiding?

There are several other supporters out there that support your "vision" and I'll let you address their defences as well as the ultimate question of:

"What are you thinking!!!!....and is what you are doing helpful to folks that are serious about losing weight....but maybe more important...gaining peace within ourselves by discovering why we choose to wallow in self hatred.

Do you think joining a website board to gain the safe distant love of others to replace self hate and to get validation that we can eat anything we want now is OK?  or should we be searching for emulating the way normal people think....and eat...and deal with life's problems?
Hint.  Normal people would get sick at the sight of the Lard Log.

I'm a firm believer that fat is just an emotional symptom of deep .....and not so deep emotional traumas....don't you agree?   or is it your genes?  over active thyroid?

As for me..I know  have a lot of head work to do...and I will do it head on...so to speak...(I crack myself up!!)

Looking forward to your reply.

Best wishes and be happy.

Even if you don't reply...just some food for thought............get it?  food for thought???

There are tons of healthy low fat, low carb, high protein recipes on here.  There are tons that are high fat, high protein too.  There are hundreds and hundreds of pages on the recipe forum, scroll them and find what appeals to you.  We all eat according to the surgery we had.  I don't need to worry about sugar because I have the band but that doesn't mean I eat sugary foods all the time.  I skim through all the recipes and pick and choose what suits my eating style.  I eat high protein, low carb and for the most part low fat but if I want to eat higher fat now and then it's not the end of the world.  I signed up for a lifestyle change not a lifetime of dieting and that includes healthy eating most of the time with some decadent eating thrown in now and then.  There are a few WLS recipe books out there but they are mostly for RNY peeps as far as I'm concerned.

If T's recipes don't interest you then keep looking down the list.  He's not the only poster on here, lots of people contribute great recipes all the time.  I always read his recipes and sometimes make them and other times just read them to get ideas.  I cook very well and can alter his recipes to suit my eating style.

Alleynag, you may not be a low carb follower, but science is proving this is the way to lose more weight, keep it off, lower triglycerides and ldl. Here are a few web sites with current medical research so that you may educate yourself on the issue. I as a western medicine practicioner, found this very difficult to swallow, but research is research. The proof is in the liverwurst. http://www.nutritionj.com/content/3/1/9

Feel free to visit pubmed, or biomed or nutrition journal to view the research and make an informed decision. Now i have yet to be successful 100% of the time on a ketogenic diet, but it does work.
Peace and Blessings, Melinda

Alleygnat,

let's not get things twisted....  I'm a low carb guy...not dangerously low carb..and not low carb forever...  if you've read my stuff....I cook and eat complex carbs like fruit and honey and i use sauces that have carbs in them....

However...  when it's a person crying for help and is seriously overweight and knows that ketosis is how we WLS people lose weight then I try to help them as best i can.  It's about creating some balance...lose your weight, get it off..balance what you eat...  i eat some things that i even shouldn't...I admit freely to it... however...your rant points to a deeper problem than that bacon explosion....  so give it up....what's wrong?  is it something I said?  Something I did to you personally?

Most people here are "highly" informed, and are basically looking for something new to help their new appetites be able to match not just their needs, but the needs of their families and friends as well.  I always ate more when i was out with friends...  I cook really high end meals for famous and not-so famous people when they come to stay with me.....lot of themMUS****ch their carbs to control their waistlines....so they appreciate what i bring to the table...they come back time after time.  Our WLS family is no different...they want flexiblity....  I'm not here with a hammer forcing anyone to eat anything, I just love making people happy....not such a bad thing to do....so hey, if you don't want...don't eat...no biggie....

I have to say  that I haven't seen his recipes (or I didn't know I was looking at them), but I just pick what fits with my surgeon and make it.  I dont feel the need to go hollering and causing a stink if someones recipe isn't what I need.
If you are looking for professional help with the recipes it may be good to visit a nutritionist that is well versed in WLS.

Is there a thread on this site for folks that are serious about losing weight?

Nope.  None.  You obviously have come to the wrong board.  People here want to be fat forever and have just had this surgery to psych out their family and friends.

Time to grab a lesson from the 12 steps.  Take what works and leave the rest.  Keep your own side of the street clean.
