Beef Jerky
- 1 1/2 to 2 pounds flank steak
- 2/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 2/3 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes

I love my dehydrator! I love to get grape tomatoes, slice in half and sprinkle with salt and dry those....I also do a lot of my tomatoes from my garden in the summer....They are delicious and are a great snack item. Mushrooms do wonderful as do hot pepper's. I dehydrate the peppers and then grind them down to a powder to add to things. My kids say I either freeze or dehydrate everything!

Sherry, thanks for the info on the spice kits. I bought mine on line at Wal-Mart. I will look next time I go to Wally World or Target to see if they have any kits. I did not even think to look for them there. I am going to guess that the kitchen gadget stores in the outlet malls possibly have them also.
I have done carrots, (turned out great) herbs, celery leaves, celery (did not care much for the celery), grapes, pitted cherries, oranges. I look forward to the summer when I have herbs and other veggies growing in the garden.

When I see mushrooms reduced, I buy and dry those. They are great added to a pot of soup, or in my pre-op days to a pot of rice. Now instead of rice I add them to a pot of Quinoa.
