I am really wanting to try a salmon patty, but I want to find a recipe that is WLS friendly and healthy. Does anyone have a simple one?

I think I got this from the forum, but I'm not sure who posted it. It called for tuna but we use salmon with good results.

Parmesan Tuna Patties

Ingredients:
1 (6 3/4-oz) can albacore tuna
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
1 large egg
2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons ground flaxmeal
1 dash garlic powder
1 dash onion powder
1 dash salt

Directions:
Drain tuna. Blend all ingredients in a medium size bowl and form into patties. Fry in oil ( use
olive oil, but you may use cooking spray****il brown on edges. Turn. Fry until done.

Recipe serves four. Per serving: 284 calories, 32 grams protein, 15 grams fat (3 saturated) and 4 grams carbohydrate.

This is the one I've always used.  I found it on diet.com because I wanted to be sure I got the measurements and everything right.

  • 1 can (15 1/2 ounce) drained salmon
  • 1 cup cereal (corn or wheat flakes or crackers)
  • 2 large eggs - lightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup 1% milk
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Cooking Spray

1.  Use a fork or clean fingers to flake salmon until very fine.
2.  C
rumble cereal or crackers into crumbs.
3.
Add eggs, milk, spices, and cereal or cracker crumbs to salmon.
4.
Mix thoroughly. Shape into 9 patties.
5.
Spray a skillet with cooking spray. Over medium heat, carefully brown both the sides until patty is thoroughly cooked.

This is nearly the same as mine but I use OldBay in it. I add green onions to it also. It is the best recipe ever. I would give you 5 stars on it since I know what it tastes like. Thank you for posting it.

This is my favorite salmon patty recipe.

1 small zucchini, chunked
1 cup carrot chunks
1/4 c. chopped onion
1-1/2 slice bread (whole grain is best)
1 7-3/4 oz. can pink salmon, drained & flaked
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
1 egg, beaten
2 tbl canola oil (optional)

Whiz zucchini carrot, onion, bread, salmon, egg, salt and pepper in a food processor.

Spray large non-stick skillet with Pam. If desired, heat canola oil over medium heat.

Plop salmon-veggy mixture into skillet by the heaping tablespoon. Cook 4-5 min., flip over, cook another 4-5 min. or til browned on both sides.

If desired, serve with sauce made of:
3 tbl light mayo
1 tsp dijon mustard

This is the recipe I have used my entire life.  It wasn't until after we had surgery that I realized it was semi low carb.

2 cans pink salmon (either buy the skinnless boneless tyoe or skin and bone it yourself)
1 tablespoon flour
2 eggs
salt and pepper to taste

Mix everything together.  In a pan heat just enough extra vergin olive oil to coat the bottom of the pan over medium heat.  Fry until golden, about 2 minutes per side.  These can also be oven fried.  Spray a baking sheet with nonstick spray and bake for 2 minutes and flip over.  Cook for 2 minutes more.

Enjoy!

I use this recipe and store it ready to cook in a lidded container as I am the only one who likes salmon at my house.  I make a patty and throw on the George foreman grill....quick and easy for any meal or a snack!

Salmon Patty

1  cn salmon, drained and deboned
1/2 - 1 c. of shredded cheese (any kind you like)
2 eggs
minced onion ( or fresh chopped)

Mix all ingredients in a bowl and make good sized balls.  Flatten and put on the grill and coo****il browned.  (Can also be fried in some oil in a skillet, or put into a baking pan and made into a loaf).
