This is the recipe I use.  At times I will brown and drain some ground sirloin and add that.

Cabbage Soup like Big Boy’s

Ingredients
1 (12-ounce) can V-8 juice
4 ribs celery cut in 2-inch pieces
2 cans (14 ounces each) sliced stewed tomatoes
2 cans (14 ounces each) clear beef broth
1 broth can water
1 smoked pork hock (3/4 pound) or ham steak in bite-size
pieces
1 onion, about the size of a lemon, diced
1/4 of a 2 1/2-pound head cabbage, diced and cored and outer
leaves discarded
1 (14-ounce) can sliced carrots, undrained and finely diced
1 envelope onion soup mix
1 teaspoon dry minced parsley
Generous dash pepper
Salt to taste if desired

Directions
Put V-8 juice and celery into blender and blend on high speed,
about half a minute or until minced. Pour into 6-quart kettle and
add each remaining ingredient as listed.
Bring to boil.
Cover and reduce to gentle simmer — simmering two hours or
until cabbage is tender

This is what I use, it's more like a veggie soup, but acts very much like a cabbage soup if you know what I mean ;-)

1 head of cabbage, diced (or two bags of shredded)
1 bag of shredded carrots
1 zucchini, diced
1 yellow squash, diced
1 package of sliced mushrooms
1 can of diced tomatoes (I usually get the ones that already have seasoning in them)
1 can of tomato paste
1 (sometimes 2) box(es) of Swanson Beef broth
1 can of water (the can from the tomatoes)
Italian Seasoning
Garlic Salt

So simple - dump the broth into a stockpot and add tomato paste - melt that down. Add in all the veggies and then the can of water. Add seasoning, bring to a boil. Then let simmer for about an hour or until veggies are tender.

I always put some parm cheese on top. It's so easy and so yummy. I think I got it from Weigh****chers and just altered it to my liking cause I looooove veggies and they didn't have as many.

Con't know if this is what you want or not but here is the one I use.

The one I use is also called Dolly Parton Soup:

1 head of cabbage, chopped up
1 green pepper
1 onion
1 bunch carrots
1 complete celery
1 can tomato juice
1 can diced tomatoes

Chop up all the vegetables and put in large pot with water and bring to a boil, boil until tender and add diced tomatoes and the can of tomato juice.
You can also add meat to this or anything else you want as long as it is low calorie
