Ok, I found some sf chocolate chips today at the grocery store and I wanted to make them worth while to eat, so I thought I would add some protein powder into the cookie dough.  I have syntha 6 chocolate which is 22 grams of proteing and 200 calories per scoop. I also have PB2 that I could add instead.  So my question is do I just add a scoop to the dry ingredients?  How many scoops would you use?

Whenever I bake I add 1 scoop of protein powder. I've considered trying 2 scoops but haven't yet. Hope that helps. Let me know how the sf. chips are I haven't tried them yet. Bought them but haven't tried them. Christine (internetnut)

When I  use protein powder in baking I use 1 1/2 to 2 scoops if the recipe is making a large batch. I have a recipe that makes 60 cookies, I use 1 1/2 to 2 scoops.  If the recipe makes less I use 1 scoop. I use vanilla protein in my chocolate chips it brings out the chocolate flavor. But it's really up to the individual taste. I hope they turn out good for you. Teresa M.

Thanks for the replies...I posted this on the RNY forum and I started getting flack from people about not eating cookies.  My outlook is if I deprive myself from eating sweets I will break and eat something I shouldn't.  I think if I make them, track the calorie count on my dailyplate I will not want more than 1 serving every once and a while as a treat.

Shelly, I feel the same way you do. If I feel deprived I will eat any and everything. So it would be just easier to eat the cookie and not have to go through all of that. That's what was part of my problem of gaining weigh in the first place. Depriving myself with weird diets and such and I would eat everything else. So have your cookie. I do. I've learned to redo all my old recipes so that I can eat them. I don't do this every day. But if I have the craving I make them.

I made brownies that has 9 grams of protein in one square. I usually take these to work to help with energy. I work night shift and I'm walking for 12 hr.  But I don't do this everytime I work though. You know your body better than anyone else. Good luck on your journey. Teresa

Thanks!! I can't wait to make some cookies....besides my kids will eat more than me and it won't be empty calories for them as well.

Shelly,
What is your recipe for the brownies?  Is it like a "brownie"?  That is one I miss.
What about cooking the protein...any problems?
