That's right....I ate things I WASN'T supposed to eat.... Why did I do it? I was tempted... of course it's easy for me to be tempted....I'm just a man... I don't have one of those strong wills like some of you....BUT there is hope...yep solid hope... for all of us...
I eat so many low carb foods that sometimes I do like "treating" myself....however, i treated myself to things like Paula Deen's Bourbon Glazed ham......cooked by Paula herself....she sent Bourbon-sugared bread pudding too.... Who am I to turn down something cooked by such a wonderful masterful cook? I'm only human...and yes...I ate it...(I shared a lot with friends too, so I didn't eat it all...lol...(I wanted to eat it all but my little belly can't fit it all in).
So I'm now faced with churning out some REALLY tasty recipes that I've tried to make as "compliant" as possible to help all of us get back on track.
If you have a stall, my recipes will pull it back to being a fat burning machine in no time. if you slip up a little during the week, it's cool because you haven't eaten a ton of carbs in the first place. So see, i do "treat" myself....but only when I know I've pulled my carb count so low that it wouldn't matter to my metabolism. Carbs aren't bad, they're just bad all of the time. I eat really well for any man....I cook these very recipes for people who aren't "Low Carb" warriors, and after they've stayed at one of my places for 2 weeks, they wonder why they're losing 2 pounds a day and have lost so much weight... I let them know on their last day... (needless to say, i get big tips).... they never knew they were eating WLS gourmet...
Let me know if anyone has some requests out there... I'm churning out more and more low carb goodness all the time...
Thomas
AWWW HELL, ... I did it too... I gotta come out... I ate some Ham, AND some Dump Cake... Yes that's right DUMP CAKE... They even Warned me... DUMP-CAKE!!! I didn't over do it, I served a tiny portion and even shared with My daughter (I am sure you can imagine what it's like sharing cake with a toddler, LOL!)
But I did get kinda DUMPY on some Cornbread stuffing... OOOH S**T, did I spill the beans on my CORNBREAD dressing? I only had a tiny bit, but believe me I paid for it!!!
The week before the holidays, I too, do a kind of Carb-Fasting Ritual... I focus mainly on my intake of proteins (like Fish, Chicken Breast, I try to stay away from red meat unless it is a really lean cut), and I focus in on my veggies (Like my spinach, I love spinach now after bypass! and remember those other veggies too)
Any-who, my point is that we are not robots, every one of us Post-Ops do have carbs at some point, we will have some things that we aren't supposed to from time to time, we are only HUMAN.
So Thomas, My LOVE, I am depending on you to crank out some more of your DELICIOUS recipes to help get my HUNGRY ass back into shape.
Love Ya Always

you're always so awesome Nina! I didn't eat much of my treats ( I don't really know what "much" is now....but i knew it was something i should have watched for....so hey, there's a LOT of us wo broke the rules....I'm cool with it as long as we know it can't be everyday or every week...we've all paid so much, worked too hard, and never want to go back.....so I need help with my own weakness too! hehe! i lov ya girl! I feel your pain!
i'm so confused about portions and what a portion looks like after a year out of surgery....i know what a portion looked like after surgery, but the lines are blurred to me about how much to eat versus a regular portion...

I know that I am kinda concerned about my portion intake as well... I only serve myself about 1/2 a chicken breast (the smaller half) and a side of veggies (the side may only be about 1/3c.).
I always serve my self on a small plate or one of my daughters plates. Even with that amount of food I am very critical of myself and how much I've eatin. I usually stop eating before my plate is empty, and I make my husband eat my last few bites (if I am not already sharing with my daughter).
Today I had a lean Cusine for lunch, I usually don't eat them but I forgot leftovers and I try to stay away from "Fast" Food. Any way I had the one with one protein and two sides, I ate the whole thing!!! It took right about 45mins to fini**** but I was completely in shock that I was able to eat all of that (and felt satisfied, Not overly full) ... Is that too much? I am so confused ...

Oh I glazed the ham myself......took the skin off the leg and scored the ham, then made a glaze of bourbon and honey, poured it on and cooked it for a while. Then I took the juice off and reduced it a little over a low heat and then put it on the ham and cooked it until brown.....it was so delicious. Oh, I got a triple smoked ham leg......now I am hungry!
I ate some fruit salad rather than pudding or dump cake!

I ate it all!!! And have learned some more things I can not eat!!! Oh well, I need to get back on track! Tomorrow is clean out the kitchen day!
I am single and don't cook a lot but would love some simple recipes that are low carb that do not make bunches of food. I absolutely love the Parmesean crusted pork chops. Have passed that recipe on to many others. So I will be lurking for some more recipes.
Thanks for all you do to share with us. You have been a great help!
