Does anyone have a recipe for a Manwich-like sloppy joe sauce?

FYI...A great appetizer...put a block of cream cheese (fat free works fine) on a platter,  cover completely with sloppy joe.  Microwave for 30 seconds or until cheese is softened.  Serve surrounded by tortilla chips.

Honestly - I never use anything but Manwich itself. It's nutritional value isn't that bad, a little high in carbs but low in cals. I have never made a sauce that tastes as good, so I just go for the real thing since it's not a weekly item in my house, we have it maybe once a month.

Here's one that I found on Recipezaar that I use. My family thinks it taste just like Manwich. I don't use the celery. I now use Splenda brown sugar and these still turn out great! Hope this helps! Christine (internetnut)

My Family's Favorite Sloppy Joes

I've tried many recipes, this is the best. I once 'dec-tupled' (10x) this recipe to sell sandwiches at a craft fair at my church. People were waiting in line to buy leftovers. Freezes well, goes up to the lake or camping well and is a hit on Halloween...it's no-fail. Easy to double, triple, etc. I've been making Joes this way for over 20 years.
