Difference in menus???
For Christmas when I was a child we always had ham at my grandma's house. Every side dish imaginable from potato salad, beets, candied yams... Now though we usually have chinese food for our Christmas gathering. No idea how or why it changed to that, but everyone enjoys it.

Thanksgiving for our family is 2 turkeys. 1 is baked in the oven with stuffing inside and the other is done outside in the deep fryer. Sides are mashed potatoes, turnips, green beans, carrots and peas, cabbage salad, lettuce salad, pickles, homemade cranberry sauce. Dessert is always a few things but always pumpkin pie at the least. This year we had pumpkin pie, lemon pie, cherry pie and a birthday cake.
Now Christmas is close yet different. One huge turkey roasted in the oven with cornbread stuffing never made the same from year to year, sometimes it has chestnuts or sausage or dried fruit or on and on, you get the idea. We always have a pork dish but never ham. This year is a crown roast of pork. Side dishes are mashed potatoes, turnips, mixed oriental style veggies stir fried, endive salad, cabbage salad, a 2nd green salad for the non endive lovers, pickles and homemade cranberry sauce. Dessert is always different. This year I'll be bringing a tray of mixed cookies and squares and candies, all homemade by me. I will also make a trifle and of course we have plum pudding with rum sauce for those that eat it.
Christmas Eve, Sauerbraten, with noodles, dilled carrots, harvard beets. I think we are doing a Turkey this year as the Sauerbraten did not sit well when I made it a couple of weeks about (I think the meat is just too difficult to chew at this stage post op, hopefully next year it will settle ok and we can enjoy this treat.
Christmas Day is usually ham or prime rib, sometimes Turkey at my Sister's. Everyone brings a dish or two so it can usually be very different each year.

Christmas Eve is the same idea... we keep it simple and have lots of munchies around. (veggie tray, fruit bowl, cheese tray... finger foods!) There are plenty of WLS friendly options for us too.
