Hi Patti!

Ours are very different.
Thanksgiving is Turkey and all the usual trimmings of sweet potatoes, stuffing, mashed potatoes, fresh green beans, home made cranberries, and my famous caramel brownies (for the family---they would be death to me.....)

Christmas is Prime Rib; roasted asparagus (if not too expensive) or another green veggie; restaurant style cheesy potatoes (mostly for the family), sauteed portabellos and usually an onion gratin dish that my daughter just loves, along with whatever else I feel like at the time, but the prime rib is our tradition.

Have a splendid day!

Tell someone that you love them!

We do the traditional Thanksgiving but on Christmas it varies. On Thanksgiving we usually decide what to have on Christmas. We have had Chili, sandwiches, chicken stew, breakfast. It just depends on what everyone decides. This Christmas it will be finger foods. So no one will be spending all day cooking. Everyone has several places to go to on Christmas too. Every year its different. Teresa M.

Thanksgiving is the traditional turkey and all the trimmings. On christmas day we go to my husbands sisters house and she also has turkey and the trimmings and she has the best noodles (homemade) ever! Chirstmas with my family is on Christmas eve and we do very untraditional things. Sometimes we have BarBQ, sometimes soup and chili. This year we are doing heavy appetizers. Thinks like chicken wings, dips, egg rolls, etc. This lets us get to the present opening faster and less clean up as well as less prep time. The kids have trouble waiting for the meal and clean up and everyone is to busy for the intense cooking anyway.

My mother and grandmother always do Ham and potato salad, sometimes slaw or other stuff like that, but it is very southern.

Thanks Rachel, I can see from everyone's responses that it may depend on where one lives???

Well, I am from South Texas, and at my father's house on Xmas ever, we always have enchiladas, tamales, rice and beans plus all teh extras. At my mother's house, it is back to Thaksgiving food- turkey, dressing, yams, green bean casserole and such.
