I have a question  for all of you regarding following a low carb diet.  Do you when following your low carb die****ch fruits and vegi's that are considered higher in carbs?  I don't limit my fruits and vegis when I'm restricting my carbs and I'm not sure if I'm making a mistake in what I'm doing.  Also I do eat beans every now and then and not sure if that is a mistake.

Please I would appreciate your help.

Hi Loni, I would guess it depends on what you want to do.. If you really are watching carbs, fruit is high in carbs, so are beans. If you do not have a real weight issue or have diabetes, fruit in moderation and some beans would be considered 'good' carbs. Things like white flour and sugar are considered 'bad' carbs. A strict low carb diet consists of meat, poultry, fish, fats, eggs and cheese. Carbs are brought in by some vegies, like broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, salad, etc.  You can look at the Atkins website and it lists all the allowed foods.  Terry
