Desperate for Gluten/ Wheat free HIGH protein recipes
My 45th birthday present was to be diagnosed with a gluten/ wheat intolerance. Our diets aren't complex enough. ggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. But that being said I was just wondering if any of you had any ideas. I really appreciate ANY and all feedback.

Hang in there 'cause the option might hurt Ann
Hi Ann!
I don't have any right at the tip of my fingers, but as long as you prepare your meals, you can control what goes into them. All meats and fish are high in protein, so baked, broiled or grilled will be gluten free. My husband's family has this issue and it was a learning curve for my MIL.
Oatmeal with protien powder added in would be great for breakfast.
I THINK that cheese is also gluten free, as long as it is not processed.
I use the site www.recipezaar.com and you can look up just about anything there.
Taste of HOme now has a new "Healthy Cooking" magazine that has recipes for special diets.
Here is the link when I went to their site and searched for "gluten free":

I hope this helps! Good luck!

We had my 6 year old son on a gluten free/casein free diet to try and treat his autism. I don't have any specific recipes, but I would advise checking out www.celiac.com. They have message boards and recipes there. The flours that I used that were high in protein were fava bean flour and almond flour. Specialty foods and flours can get expensive though, so I'd focus on a lean protein and veggie at meal time and skip the specialty stuff except for special occassions.
Good luck. I understand your frustrations.
