Canned ham recipe during soft phase???
Well, I make this soup and you could definitely puree it and just add the Hormel-type canned ham instead.
Or there's a standard ham salad spread recipe - that you could eat without crackers and substitute onion powder, celery salt and use just a dash of sweet pickle juice (for the celery, onion and relish):
3 cups ground fully cooked ham
1 hard-cooked egg, chopped
2 tablespoons finely chopped celery
2 teaspoons finely chopped onion
2 teaspoons sweet pickle relish
3/4 cup mayonnaise or combo or Mayo and Greek Yogurt
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
Ham and Bean Soup
Heat the milk in a heavy 4-quart saucepan. Stir in the beans, including the liquid from the can, the ham, celery, pepper, and parsley. Simmer at least 30 minutes. Serve with homemade or French bread and butter. Note: Canned beans make a better soup because they stay firm. Dried beans may break apart after soaking. Be sure to include the liquid from the canned beans when preparing this di**** will help to thicken the soup as it cooks. Serves 6 |

I love to take the canned ham, chicken, or turkey and add just enough Kraft Olive Oil Mayonnaise to moisten, mix up well. Then add a chopped boiled egg and a dab of pickle relish (made with splenda) to taste, salt and pepper. You may need a touch more mayo to keep it smooth and moist. You just have to experiment a little. I have sometimes added a little Spicy mustard to give it a little kick.
Great on toast as a sandwich, use with Sun Chips as a dip, or just eat!! Enjoy!
