I found this on WW site and was wondering if you think it's something that a WLS patient can eat. Not that I'm anywhere eating real food yet but trying to get me some recipes to try down the road.

Thanks,
Cindy

Chicken and Dumplings
Serves 4-6 (Depending on serving size)

1 1/3 cup fat-free chicken broth
1 1/3 cup 2% reduced fat milk
1 tsp table salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 1/2 tsp garlic herb seasoning
9 oz cooked boneless, skinless chicken breast, shredded or cubed
3 6-inch flour tortilla(s), cut into bite size strips
1 can canned condensed cream of chicken soup

Instructions:
In a large pan, over medium heat, mix together all ingredients except for tortillas. Stir well to get lumps out of soup and make base a creamy consistency.
Heat to a gentle boil and drop in flour tortillas. Boil base and tortillas for 8 minutes.
Turn heat down to low and simmer for 10 -15 minutes to allow soup to thicken.

Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only TRUE FRIENDS will leave footprints in your heart...And may that friendship have such a ONENESS that when one weeps the other will taste salt...Friends are like balloons ; once you let them go you can't get them back....So I'm going to tie you to my heart so I never lose you.

I really don't know the answer to your question because I haven't tried the recipe yet but hope somebody can answer it for you.

When I used to make dumplings I would had a can of cream to the chicken broth and butter along with tearing canned biscuits into little pieces and it was so good but so fattening. Maybe I could use reduce fat biscuits, fat free cream and no butter.
