LOW Carb: 10 Garlic Cloves Crock Pot Chicken ** Don't go on a date after this one** HA!

10 Garlic Cloves Crock Pot Chicken

 

Ingredients:

3 sprigs fresh thyme

2 sprigs fresh rosemary

2 sprigs fresh sage

2 sprigs fresh parsley

1 cup chicken broth

10 cloves Fresh Garlic, unpeeled

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

1  large whole chicken

2 stalks celery,sliced

 

Preparation:

Place 1 sprigs thyme, rosemary, sage and parsley in chicken cavity. You can crush them with a mortle and pestle or with your hand to get the most out of these!

Place celery in crock pot. Put chicken on top of celery.

Pour chicken stock around the chicken.

 Add garlic around chicken.

 Sprinkle remaining herbs, salt and pepper over chicken.

Cover cook on low 8-10 hours or on medium  6-7 hours.  Take temp reading to ensure the chicken is at proper temperature for serving.

To serve, place chicken, garlic and celery on serving platter.

Serves 3,  about 3 carbs per serving(ish)

We have made this recipe for years, only ours calls for 40 cloves of garlic!! We never used the 40 cloves, but we have used 20 and it was great!! Many of the Garlic Chicken crock recipes call for the 40 and people love it! I had forgotten about this recipe. Thanks for finding it and posting. I'm so glad you find these and post them...It sure saves me the time of looking on the web for them.

Sherry, I've mde and I've eaten other's recipes for the 40 clove recipe and it's just too much garlic...don't get me wrong, as long as you can use he leftoer cloves, it's good (like for bread), but since good WLS patients won't eat bread, then les cloves are still great and maybe the other part of the family can eat the garlic on the bread while we watch them...lol...
