I was telling my freind about the protein we have to intake, and she said that it sounds like iam on the south beach diet.  is this true?  If so can I use the cookbook to come up with things to eat because chili.

Yes, South Beach is low carb cooking.    However, some of the things they fix, I can't have due to WLS issues so use caution.

Any of the low carb cook books will do nicely, so long as you watch the carb count your doctor set forth.  Some of the recipes are too high carb for my level yet.  So check, don't just blindly cook. :-)

There are also several WLS cookbooks available:

Before And After: Living and Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery by Susan Maria Leach

Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery  by Pat Levine

Recipes for Life After Weight-Loss Surgery  by Margaret Furtado

And surely T will be putting one together some day?  :-)

There are a few websites with WLS recipes as well.  Type "WLS recipes" into google. :-)

I just bought the Hungry Girl cookbook from Target.com and it looks like she has lots of good recipes. Not necessarily for WLS, but alot of high protein, low carb, easy stuff.
