Hi, had my RNY surgery 3 months ago.  Still having a hard time eating meat.  The only thing I can stomach, is shrimp, tuna, hamburg.  Loved chicken post-op, but still have hard time with it.

Anyone with ideas for crockpot recipes for easy to digest meat>  Muchly appreciated.

Try this recipe, and look at my response right at the very end for my crockpot version of it.  I was able to eat a whole bowl, and normally I can only eat 4 bites of any solid protein.

I've been eating alot of lentils lately, they have the most protein and my pouch tolerates them well.

Thats a great idea, I will search from some lentil recipes.  Love trying new stuff, but diet is getting little stale.  Just have to look for some new stuff to spice it up.  Will be trying spaghetti squash this week.

Are you eating white meat (chicken?) I still can't eat chicken too well, but my surgeon and nut told me to eat the dark meat not the white. The white tends to be more dry and while the dark meat is more fattening, the amount that we eat levels it all out. So I would try that.

Thanks Shauna,
I haven't met with the surgeon since my 1st month post-op.  Good to hear I am not the only one not able to tolerate chicken well.  I tried turkey last night, dark meat, just aweful.  I guess I will just keep trying on other choices of protein, but its hard in restaurants.

thanks,  Sheryl

HI Patti, ground turkey is great, as is TVP (textured vegetable protein).  Trying to get a start to eating chicken and beef.  Trying to look for ideas that are tender.

thanks,
Sheryl

Sheryl, You may or may not know about this site...She has wonderful recipes for anything you need. It is amazing.
Also, type in your search engine....like:  Low Carb Crock Recipes....or Low Carb  meals...
It is amazing the choices you will find. The recipes on here are endless. I see many of those exact recipes listed on here, which helps, but the door is wide open for finding recipes you may be looking for right at your finger tips.
I love finding things on here and then searches.
Good luck!

I just tried this chicken stuffed with broccoli and cheese tonight, and it was totally awesome!
I bought from Sam's club in the frozen meat section.  Each chicken has 25 grams of protein, 14 carbs, and 15 fat grams.  It is so good.  I have not even been eating chicken lately, cause it its always too dry.  However, this chicken is very moist.  Hopefully you can find this!!!!  Good luck!  I also like to make taco soup and freeze it in small portions.  Some of the South Beach Living frozen dinners are good too, and high in protein.  ;) Donna
