I know fall dosn't arrive until next week, but with cooler air today, I just put on a pot of soup, no real recipe, just a couple of chicken breasts which will be cut small after boiling for awhile, an onion, celery, some spices, (your choice), 1/4 cup of brown rice, small amount of cabbage sliced thin, and a small bag of frozen tomatoes,  I may add some more frozen veggies!!!  Hope you're all having a great day!!!  Patti K.

It amazes me how different each program is in regards to what foods are allowed.  Rice is stritctly forbidden by my doc.  The say it can gum up in the pouch and plug the stoma.  Your soup sounds great, I am in the mood to start making soup for the fall also.

Jim, food programs are different.  I checked with my nut. last week, and the question I asked her was inregards to stuffed peppers and cabbage rolls, most recipes call for a small amount of rice, she told me that I where I'm at, I should be OK.  P.S.  The soup was tasty!!  Patti K.

I agree.  Most doctors that I have heard about or read allows very few carbs and strictly forbids potatoes or rice.  I do know of some doctors who allow their patients to have carbs, have potatoes, have rice or even ALCOHOL!!!!!  Of course these same doctors also allow revisions to their patients when they get bigger than their pre-op weight.

I've tried my hardest to provide  as many of the "little tummy army" with as many really tasty low carb options as possible.

I agree that the weather is changing for a lot of the folks in the continental US, and those fond memories of chicken and dumplings are in my memories, but I'm gonna have to just keep it a memory....I never wanna be fat again...  I said goodbye to that version of me a while ago...

I don't look down on those who choose to have carbs, I leave it as their choice....I have big love for people big and small....
