Kale is a type of cabbage that is very green, very strong and very leafy. It doesn't fall apart like cabbage or lettuce though....it's full of great vitamins and minerals! You would be suprised at how many people make soups and stews with this as an ingredient!
I haven't tried to find the beeyonion for you yet as I've been busy with doing Red Cross vonluteering.....you don't have a brand name over there called Lipton? They make tea and soup mixes over in the states.

T,
Lipton is just tea here, but I will find something. I need to go to another supermarket which has a greater range, or I will improvise. I have my garlic and onion roast in the slow cooker now and I have added some beef stock to the bottom. Do you think I should add the balsamic at the end with this combination? I love balsamic.
I will go to the asian grocer and see if they have Kale. Improvisation is so good in cookintg.
Like you I lived on an island for 7 years, not as tropical as your though, mine was Tasmania, but everyone had an island mentality. Got to say though the meat in Tasmania was incredible, never found anywhere with meat equal to it. I will pm you sometime soon.

Kale is very good sauteed in some olive oil too. I can't get beefy onion by Lipton in Canada so I just used half a pack of Lipton Onion and then added a tablespoon of beef bouillon and it turned out great. T, it's insane how they sell they same name brand in both countries but don't sell the same flavours and that's not just Lipton's. We can't get half the flavours of Crystal Light they can in the US.
This is sitting in my crockpot right at this very moment. but yeah, here in Canada we don't get all the variety that is available over the border.
So on mine I put a package of the Lipton onion/garlic soup mix and instead of water in the crockpot I poured in a can of beef broth. I'm sure it will still be awesome.
I haven't been dissapointed yet with any of your recipes.
