Faux Starbux Mocha Frap
I have an 11 week old little boy and have become addicted to Starbucks Mocha Fraps. I need the caffeine! (ok, and the chocolate and sugar) But not only are they ridiculously expensive, they're terrible for me. I remember a long time ago reading a recipe for making mocha fraps using the DaVinci Syrup. Does anyone have the directions? My wallet and waistline thanks you!
This is what I do when the urge strikes for a Mocha:
4-8 oz of cold strong coffee (I make extra and keep it refrigerated)
1 scoop of chocolate protein powder
1 tbsp of European Dark Cocoa (it only has 5 calories and now sugar)
sweeten to taste
ice cubes
Put all ingredients in blender or magic bullet and stir with a spoon. Add ice (I like mine thick, so I add ice all the way to the top of my bullet) and give it a spin until the ice is crushed.
Yummo - mocha!
In a large tumbler ****d tea size), put:
1 tsp instant coffee (I use decaf, but if I had an 11-wk old baby, I'd probably want the high-test)
Add about 1" hot tap water - enough to dissolve the crystals.
Add 2 packets Splenda (or more or less, to taste)
Fill the tumbler with ice.
Add 1 cup FF milk.
Add 2 tbl SF flavored syrup (I like caramel and cinnamon, but I've made it with chocolate for my mocha-loving mom).
Stir well.
