Freezing Apples/Apple Pie Filling HELP!

Hey Everyone! Here's the deal. I have a bunch of apples that I have to do something with. I am new to this cooking thing, so my question is can I freeze these apples, or better yet, can I make up several batches of apple pie filling, freeze them, then make pies later on? The apples are Brandywine I think. They are smallish, firm, and just a little tart. I have granulated splenda.  I am not even sure how many pounds of apples I have, they were given to me, and there are way more than can be eaten right away. I know I can probably come up with some WLS recipies to use now, such as a pie or an apple crisp, but I'd really like to store them for later use. Canning is not really an option, as I don't have the equipment nor do I have the money to go buy canning supplies. HELP!!!

According to my freezing book it says to slice apples and take a mixture of 1teaspoon of ascorbic acid and 1/2 -1 cup of sugar place in plastic bag with apple slices.  Make sure apples are coated with sugare mixture and freeze.  I have made up my apples for pies with all the spices I usually put in and freeze them that way.  They turn out OK for baking.
Hope this helps.
