I can't find SF Cool Whip in Canada so I use the light. Since I don't have to worry about sugar since we don't dump, I just have to use what's available. I even use skim milk but the recipe called for a bit more fat one. I think you can play with it as much as you want and it will turn out just fine.
Tracey :I couldn't find sugar free cool whip either at store in Iowa so I bought the fat free stuff.I'm wanting to know if I could use other flavors in your recipe instead of choc.Like Lemon or peach.strawberry jello? Husband is diabetic and I do dump when i eat sugar. My pouch seems to know the difference between splenda and real sugar..

You can use any flavour of pudding that you want. I've made it with french vanilla SF pudding and Banana SF pudding and it's always good. We are very limited to any of the FF or SF items in Canada. We can only get a very select few of either.
I keep hearing about the SF cheesecake pudding ones and I'd love to try it but I don't have a trip planned across the border anytime soon. My friend lives there for work so I might just send her a shopping list of things to bring back to Canada with her when she returns next month. LOL

If you don't want to always make it homemade, Dr. Oetker makes the Light Mousse in a few different flavours as well. They are super good and I actually use the Light ones instead of icing on cake or cupcakes because we don't like heavy frostings. Here is a link to their website, you can check out the nutriotional info on the light ones to see if they agree with your surgery or not. I simply look at calories and nothing else since the band doesn't care about sugar.

Just click on the pic of any of the light mousses and the nut.into pops up.
