Need Recipes for Fresh Basil

My husband planted fresh basil in a big pot on our deck much too thickly.  It's growing fast and needs to be thinned out or it'll get too choked to keep growing.  If it were later in the summer and I had fresh tomatoes, I'd make tomato and mozzarella salad with chopped basil.  I used to make basil pesto (I use pecans because I can't afford pine nuts), but I'm trying to keep my fat intake low and all the oil in pesto puts me off.  I made some black bean salad with basil, and made some pasta salad with basil for my husband (I can't eat it).  I'm running out of ideas...do you have any? thanks, Jean

you can also chop it up and put in ice cube trays - add water and freeze, then whenever you need fresh basil is recipe you just pop one in the hot pan/pot
