looking for crawfish recipes
I'm still fairly new to this site and am so excited to find recipes that actually sound good!! I have ALWAYS hated cooking, but since I've had such a hard time getting my protein in I'm looking forward to trying some of these!!
Anyone had any issues with crawfish? It's in season now, but I'm a bit apprehensive. I'm 4 weeks out today.
Thanks!
I guess I missed your post, but thought I would give it a try and see if you still needed a recipe. I have had crawfish 2 ways boiled with ol'bays and fried, roll them in flour seasoned with ol'bays and fry, there isn't much else to do with them because they take a lot of time to clean and prepare if you don't boil them, you could boil them and then add them to a cassarole. Lots of work for little protein, early out for me boiled sprimp was my fav. I also did scampi but I can have all the fats I want. Difference in surgeries makes a big difference in what we can eat. I hope your doing well and that your getting you protein in. Marylin
I guess an answer is better late than never. I eat boiled crawfish all the time. I have also had crawfish etoufee about 2 weeks ago and it sat fine. I had about 2 tbsps. of rice and maybe a 1/2 cup of the etoufee itself and it was great. There are all kinds of ways to fix them but most of them we cant eat after RNY. Boiled is the best and I probley eat them at least once if not twice a week.
THANKS! I tried the boiled, and tolerated them very well. My husband surprised me with a weekend in Lake Charles for my birthday and we went to the buffet in L'auberge. I am now 2 months out and still can't tolerate shrimp, but crawfish works wonderfully!! They had the best crawfish bisque.. yummmmmm!! I tried the etouffe, and their gumbo, but didn't care for theirs much. I think my taste has changed alot also since surgery, cuz i'm even more picky than before about gumbo.
