This is from my old W.W. days but I still make it. Suprise Dessert 2 small packages S.F. chocolate pudding (instant) Fat Free soda crackers 1 container S.F. Cool Whip Make the instant pudding according to directions. Layer the bottom of a glass baking dish with crackers. Pour half the pudding on the layer of crackers. Repeat a layer of crackers on the pudding and pour the remaining pudding on the crackers. Spread the container of cool whip over the top. Cover with saran wrap and refridgerate for at least 24 hours. I find it is better to refridgerate it for about a day and a half. The crackers break down and are similar to pie crust or phylo dough. This is really good. My girlfriend has me make it for her every Thanksgiving. My husband just inhales it!

This sounds really good. I have one question because I'm a dork...what are soda crackers?

Julie....soda crackers are just regular saltine crackers but I am sure that the ones that she uses with the recipe have the unsalted tops. That is not a dumb question.....I probably wouldn't know it either but that is what my parents called them. Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

I was surprised when I saw the saltines/soda crackers listed, but you're right, they would taste like a real pie crust. YUM, I can't wait to make it! Diana

In fact I just use the regular crackers and not the unsalted ones. I have found the fat free crackers don't have much salt on them and you can't taste it in the dessert. I hope that you all like it as much as we do. I have used the regular crackers (not the fat free) and it seems like they break down better than the fat free ones.

Brenda, I made this for Christmas eve and day. It was absolutely awesome. Next time I will try it with pistachio pudding to make it green for Christmas. I already want to make it again. Thanks for the recipe. Lynn
